A reporter asked what appears to be a very foolish question about the flooding in Texas. However, beneath this ‘stupid’ question is an anti-Trump bias, suggesting the president should be blamed for the flood fatalities.
The reporter questioned why the NWS alerts were issued while people were sleeping and what the administration is doing to ensure the alerts are issued earlier, implying that the NWS had not fulfilled its duty properly.
This could be the most absurd question ever posed to a press secretary. Why did the warnings go out while people were sleeping?
Leavitt quickly pointed out that the flood occurred around 4 AM that morning, stating that the flood was an act of God and that the president had no control over the timing of storms. She then proceeded to school the reporter on when all the alerts were issued, demonstrating that the NWS did its job correctly.
