Tucker Carlson says he’s leaving the Republican Party and seems to think conservatives will follow him right out the door.
That’s a serious misread of the movement. The Republican base is bigger than any one media personality, commentator, or influencer. Conservatives are loyal to principles, not celebrity status, and they’re not interested in following anyone into political irrelevance just because that person demands it.
