Rep. Wesley Hunt just delivered a brutal mic-drop moment after Jasmine Crockett tried to smear voter ID laws as a “poll tax,” shutting down the argument with a powerful reality check on election integrity and common sense.

This is the heart of the debate: requiring identification is already a routine part of everyday American life. People are routinely asked to show ID for banking, travel, employment, prescriptions, and countless other activities that are far less significant than choosing the leaders who shape our country.

“My family is all BLACK, and every single member of my family has — WHAT? ID that can allow you to VOTE!”

“It’s the dog whistling back to this Jim Crow 2.0 argument that I have already proven is null and void. It doesn’t exist today!”

“I have a three-year-old little boy. I have a five-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old daughter. You wonder what the first thing that they were given when they were born? A birth certificate and a social security number!”

“It’s time to move on. The days of the poll tax and the days of Jim Crow are over.”
