Planned Parenthood Witness Testifies Infants, Toddlers May Not Be “Conscious Beings” or Feel Pain

An expert witness testifying in court on behalf of Planned Parenthood argued that toddlers and infants may not experience pain or qualify as “conscious beings,” according to a report from Townhall.

Dr. Steven Ralston, a maternal-fetal medicine physician, testified that infants likely do not feel pain because, according to him, they are not “conscious beings.”

Ralston stated: “I don’t know that [a one-year-old experiences pain] because I don’t know that a one-year-old experiences consciousness.” Ralston also could not tell the court when consciousness begins, stating: “I think it’s different for different individuals.”

Let that reality sink in. To protect abortion at all costs, the industry went so far as to cast doubt on whether babies feel pain at all. The testimony stunned the courtroom, revealing the disturbing and dehumanizing reasoning required to defend abortion on demand.

Anyone who’s ever spent five minutes around a newborn or toddler knows — yes, they absolutely feel pain. Is anyone actually surprised that Planned Parenthood is this evil?
