Senator Rand Paul was on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with host Margaret Brennan to discuss topics including clawing back Federal funds.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who has pitched Elon Musk on clawing back hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding already approved to Congress, says he believes President Trump can get enough Republicans on board to officially approve the plan.

“I’ve seen it reported that you have pitched to Elon Musk a plan to claw back 500 billion dollars in Federal funding that Congress has already approved,” Brennan commented.
“Do you think you can actually get this done in a rescission package, and how much money do you think you can get back?” Brennan asked.
After President Trump’s cuts to the U.S. Education Department, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) says he’d like to see “an NBA or NFL of teachers,” with “the most extraordinary teachers” reaching “the entire country” or “the entire world” virtually.

“Do you have a guarantee that the Federal Government, Federal taxpayers will still provide two billion in education funding? That seems important to your State,” Brennan asking about funds sent to Senator Paul’s State of Kentucky for education.
“What I’d rather is a guarantee that my kids can read and write and do math,” Paul said.
“Dollars are not proportional to educational success,” Paul continued.
Recission or clawback… call it whatever you want, but reduce spending, cut waste, and eliminate fraud.
We have invested substantial resources into education, yet our global rankings have continued to plummet. It’s time for decisive action: we must reevaluate our spending and prioritize effectiveness over excess.
