Asked about immigration on The Builders, Elon Musk got brutally honest with Walter Isaacson about a former Tesla employee in Austin who was fired for assaulting a woman who stepped on his prayer rug, then months later killed three people in a downtown Austin bar shooting.

When Isaacson pushes the idea that individuals should be judged separately rather than as groups, Musk does not budge, calling it the “blank slate fallacy” to believe all people are “exactly the same” at their core. “They’re not,” he says, before telling the Tesla story and closing with, “Now, I think we shouldn’t let people like that into the country. Do you?” The gunman, Ndiaga Diagne, was a Senegal-born naturalized citizen who opened fire outside a bar on Sixth Street on March 1, killing three and wounding more than a dozen. That is plain as the nose on your face, even if the media would rather not say it. Big shoutout to The Builders for the interview, so go subscribe on YouTube!

Shouldn’t America be screening out people with that kind of violence in them before they ever get in?
