On Friday, during a protest at an ICE facility, the mayor of New Jersey’s largest city, and a Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Ras Baraka, was handcuffed and detained by federal authorities after a confrontation with three Congress members who were seeking a tour of the site.
Alina Habba, the interim U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, confirmed that Baraka has been detained.
