Law enforcement agencies in the United States are intensifying their surveillance efforts amid growing concerns over potential Iranian sleeper cells operating within the country, according to CBS News. Officials have raised alarms about suspected terrorists possibly entering the U.S. through open borders, with some warning of threats reminiscent of past attacks.

Jonathan Gilliam, a former FBI special agent, expressed concerns about the potential presence of sleeper cells in an interview with Fox News.

“With the way that our border was down for four years, there could be cells here that could be activated by Iran or proxies and groups that are loyal to Iran,” he said.
